Stylo Art Karuizawa

Every pen has a story to tell

We’re so excited to welcome Stylo Art Karuizawa to the Melbourne Pen & Stationery Show.

Handcrafted to be treasured for generations

Master craftsman Motoshi Kazuno-san creates beautiful fountain pens crafted from natural woods, including kuro-gaki, yaku-sugi, ichii, Japanese cherry wood, Japanese ash, ebony, rosewood, cocobolo, and snakewood. Each wooden component is finished with oil and wax, allowing the natural beauty of the grain to shine through. As every pen is handmade, even designs from the same model will have their own unique character.

Stylo Art is also renowned for its collaborations with master maki-e, chinkin, and urushi artisans in Wajima and Kiso, creating exquisite pens that honour centuries of Japanese craftsmanship. One of the most distinctive creations is his ink-dyed Fuki-urushi fountain pen, offering a striking interpretation of this traditional technique.

Every pen is carefully tuned before it leaves the workshop, so alongside exceptional craftsmanship, you’ll also experience the smooth writing performance Stylo Art has become known for. Be sure to visit Stylo Art Karuizawa and give them a generous Aussie welcome.
