Please stop by and say hello to Beth, the one-woman studio behind this Melbourne-based letterpress printing studio. Working from her backyard studio in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Beth is passionate about keeping traditional letterpress techniques alive, using vintage printing presses, old wood and lead type, ornaments and cuts.
At Mediocre Press, every letter is set by hand and every sheet of paper is fed through the press by hand. There are no shortcuts here, just the satisfying rhythm of ink, paper, type and press, along with the unmistakable texture of a beautifully made letterpress impression. Beth also takes a thoughtful approach to materials, choosing paper with sustainability in mind and reusing blocks and cuts wherever possible.
