Volunteer
The Melbourne Pen & Stationery Show is a not-for-profit event organised and run by volunteers from the community. We’re looking for friendly and reliable people to join our volunteer crew. Whether you’re a die-hard pen and stationery fan or just keen to be part of our community event, there’s a role for you.
Your assignments may include:
- parking attendant: greet exhibitors’ vehicles at the parking garage entrance
- morning bump-in: help exhibitors find and set up their stands
- reception: sell admission tickets, scan online bookings
- greet & help direct visitors: help fellow pen lovers get the most out of the show
- lunch runs: take and fetch exhibitor lunch orders from a local café
- door prize & raffle tickets: sell tickets for charity and collect contacts for our mailing list
- evening pack-down: help exhibitors pack up and clear the venue
We’ll need you to be rostered on for at least part of the day (we’ll check your availability beforehand), and to attend an online briefing in the lead up to the event.
In return, volunteers receive:
- a free pass to the show (we’ll refund your ticket if you’ve already bought one),
- first dibs on limited-supply show merch, and
- our undying gratitude.
Volunteering is a great way to get to know your fellow pen-thusiasts, help our local event to grow and thrive, and to get a peek behind the scenes at how the show runs.
A note on early trading: Volunteers involved in morning bump-in may have access to the show floor before the doors open to the public. Volunteers are welcome to browse and trade with exhibitors who are ready before the show officially opens and during the premium hour period (9–10am); however, they are expected to prioritise the tasks they are assigned. We don’t want one volunteer’s early shopping to create more work for others.
