Antique pencils with a story to tell
When pens were works of art
We’re thrilled to welcome Pam Sutton back to the Melbourne Pen & Stationery Show!
Antique finds for curious minds
Captivated by antique mechanical pencils for more than 30 years, Pam has a special passion for nineteenth-century English propelling pencils, particularly the work of Sampson Mordan & Co., the co-inventors of the very first patented mechanical pencil in 1822.
A familiar face in Melbourne’s collecting circles, Pam has shared her expertise with groups such as the Melbourne Pen Group, where her demonstrations of “beautiful” and “technically advanced” pencil mechanisms have drawn praise. Her past exhibits at the Pen Show have been celebrated for both their historical insight and their craftsmanship.
This year, Pam will be presenting a captivating new display – featuring not only antique pencils but also Victorian dip pens, quill slip holders, and other fascinating desk items. Her table promises to delight both seasoned collectors and anyone curious to see the artistry of fine writing tools from another era.
Don’t miss the chance to say hello to Pam and discover her delightful collection at this year’s show!
