A Sydney/Eora-based live portraitist, illustrator and creator who is inspired by finding joy in the little things and moments with people you love.
Quirkimi is a playful little world of quirky observations, silly moments and the unexpected things that make everyday life more fun. The name combines “quirky” with Kimi, the creator behind the brand and the character Kōto.
It all began in 2019, when Kimi was dreaming up a username for a brand-new Instagram account. With a habit of spotting animal-shaped clouds, making random observations and finding far too much joy in a good pun, “quirkimi” seemed like a natural fit.
Kōto soon became the face of Quirkimi, appearing in comics and illustrations inspired by the ups, downs and wonderfully odd moments of everyday life. Created during a time when Kimi was figuring out what to do next, the comics became a way to explore those feelings while finding a little humour in the uncertainty.
Quirkimi is all about remembering to enjoy the journey, not just rushing towards the next big thing. From tiny everyday discoveries to moments that make you stop and think, there is always something worth noticing, especially when it’s a little bit silly. The Quirkimi motto says it best: Stay Silly!
