Lousy Ink

A Melbourne-made art supply brand transforming printer-cartridge waste into vibrant recycled inks and creative tools for artists.

Founded by two artists and proudly made in Melbourne, Lousy Ink is built on a simple idea: you can make your mark on the world without leaving a mark on the planet. Working with Close the Loop and the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark collection program, the team gives printer-cartridge ink a second life, helping divert waste generated by millions of cartridges across Australia.

Lousy Ink creates highly pigmented, non-toxic recycled inks alongside thoughtfully designed tools for making. Its range includes the CMYKIT colour-mixing kit, Lousy Liners made from recycled plastic and filled with recycled ink, and refillable Lousy Scribblers, hand-filled with water-based recycled ink in vibrant colours.

More than an art-materials brand, Lousy Ink celebrates the creative community and encourages artists to see waste as a resource. Every bottle, liner, and marker is an invitation to create more thoughtfully—and to discover the possibilities in materials that might otherwise be thrown away.
